With 17 years of experience in the practice of employment law, Blair is one of our senior lawyers and our Head of Litigation.

 

Blair has spent the last 11 years helping TevlinGleadle’s clients obtain successful outcomes to their workplace issues.  Prior to that, Blair began his legal career by articling and practicing for 6 years in the Labour & Employment law group at the Vancouver office of a large national law firm.  Blair has extensive experience in employment law and related matters.

 

He has assisted clients in reaching favorable resolutions of disputes including: wrongful dismissals, severance pay disputes, human rights complaints, employment standards complaints, employment contract interpretation disputes, unfair competition injunctions, and worker's compensation issues.  Blair regularly advises on, and drafts agreements pertaining to executive employment, such as employment contracts, stock option agreements, non-competition and confidentiality clauses.

 

In his practice, Blair has appeared as counsel before all levels of Courts in British Columbia and has succeeded in arguing a number of important and precedent setting employment law cases.  He has also acted as counsel before various federal and provincial administrative tribunals in employment law related matters.

 

Blair is the author of numerous published papers on a wide array of employment law topics.  As a regular contributor to B.C.’s Continuing Legal Education (“CLE”) program, Blair has written papers on, and presented to lawyers on, many employment-related subjects, such as: punitive damages, efficient methods for accessing the Court system, and mitigation of damages.  From 2012-2014 Blair was a member of the organizing committee for CLE’s Employment Law Conference.

 

Blair is an accomplished chef and oenophile: he is a member of the Commanderie de Bordeaux and the Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin.  He is also a Gala Committee member for the Vancouver International Wine Festival in support of Bard on the Beach.

 

His other interests include playing guitar, collecting Canadian art, and studying baseball and hockey history.
