Education

Biography

Called to the BC Bar in 2000, Calla worked as a corporate solicitor at a large Vancouver law firm, before leaving to specialize in employment law negotiations and litigation. Calla routinely acts as counsel in wrongful dismissal and employment law cases in the BC Supreme Court, in Arbitrations, and in the Employment Standards Tribunal. Calla has successfully argued important human rights cases before the BC Human Rights Tribunal, and has negotiated several advantageous settlements for corporations and for individuals in that specialized forum.

Calla takes a practical and efficient approach to workplace issues and takes pride in careful consideration of contract law and Court procedure. She is currently Chairperson of the Employment Law Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch. In her spare time, Calla's hobbies include cycling, yoga and skiing.
